Police Stop Woman With Axe Threatening To Kill Everyone At Elementary

Kisstal Killough was screaming she wanted to kill everyone at an elementary school while carrying an ax

North Las Vegas, NV – A woman with a pick ax was screaming threats and climbed a chain link fence at an elementary school Feb. 27.

Police arrested Kisstal Killough, 33. Police said Killough jumped off the fence and dropped the pick ax and didn’t resist arrest, according to KVVU-TV.

There were about 200 children on the playground at the time Killough was arrested.

Police said the woman was screaming she was going to kill everyone, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

No one was injured and no damage was done to school property.

“It was so scary,” fourth grader Gael Duarte said. “I heard a lady screaming ‘I’m going to kill you.’ I saw a lady screaming at all of us with an ax beside her.”

“I was having tears in my eyes,” fourth-grader Naomi Ramirez said. “I was shaking. My friends tried to calm me down but I couldn’t do it.”

The principal of the elementary school sent a letter to parents that KVVU published.

The letter stated Killough was not associated with the school and the police took her into custody before she could access the playground area.

“I would like to thank the North Las Vegas Police Department for their amazing response time to our call,” Principal Kristie Cole wrote in the letter.

North Las Vegas Police Department public information officer Eric Leavitt said that Killough was either mentally ill or under the influence of drugs. Killough was charged with assault with a deadly weapon.

Commenters on KVVU’s Facebook page had plenty to say.

“I think this is the National Pick Ax Association’s fault,” Elena Pineda wrote. “We should just go ahead and cut ties with them.”

“Steven Tyler has nothing better to do?” wrote Jason Wiljanen, making reference to the suspect’s resemblance to Aerosmith’s lead singer.
