Couple’s House Guest Makes Disturbing Discovery After Hearing Child’s Cries In The Middle Of The Night

An Oklahoma couple has been arrested after a woman reported that they abused their children right in front of her.

The woman told police officers she witnessed the abuse when she stayed the night at the home of Jamie Goodin and Jacob Baker, reported KFOR News.

The witness says she saw Goodin attempting to suffocate her 7-month-old daughter to stop her from crying, according to Inquistr.

“She said that she witnessed a woman putting a pillow over a small infant, attempting to suffocate the child,” Sgt. Jennifer Wardlow said.

The woman reportedly intervened and stopped Goodin from asphyxiating the child. Goodin also allegedly told one of her kids that she would “break her neck if she did not shut up and leave her alone,” according to the woman.

The witness also described an incident in which Baker pointed a BB gun at one of the children, almost shooting her in the face. He allegedly said the child was “the spawn of Satan and she deserves to die.”

The couple reportedly told the woman that they lock their kids in a room while they “shoot up” meth. The witness said the kids were “starving,” so she called the police while taking them out for food.

When emergency response arrived, they discovered the infant was malnourished and had many bruises as well as the “worst case of diaper rash they had ever seen.”

“We learned that the 7-month-old, once at the hospital, had some type of a brain bleed… a serious head injury,” Wardlow said.

Goodin reportedly had trouble providing authorities with the names and birthdays of her children.
Police cited in their report that Goodin was acting strangely and appeared to be under the influence of controlled substances.

“A very sad situation, obviously they’re in a better place right now,” Wardlow added. “Had [the woman] not called, […] who knows how much longer these children would have stayed in this environment? They could have been more seriously injured or even killed.”

Goodin and Baker were arrested and taken to the Oklahoma County Jail. Baker was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of a minor, and Goodin was charged with two counts of child abuse, KFOR reported.
